retreat:

Join dream team Adelaide Gross and Casey Deschene for a weekend of healing, play, and cozying up at Shilo Farm in beautiful Eliot, ME.   Enjoy morning meditations, daily yoga and qi gong, and healing ayurvedic food, all snuggled up on this beautiful Maine farm. Spend downtime relaxing, in personal practice, snow exploring, or cozying up by the woodstove with a book and some tea. Come to nurture your practice and body, using the grounding energy of winter to tune in, to turn in, and to get clear about what you need. Winter is a time for introspection and deep personal nourishment. During the weekend we will be exploring the topic of setting and holding boundaries; in our bodies, in our relationships, and with ourselves.

Our menu will be entirely ayurvedic food, lovingly prepared by our amazing chef, Veronica Wolff-Casey. Veronica is an Ayurvedic practitioner and an esteemed faculty member of both the Boston Ayurveda School and the Kripalu School of Ayurveda. All allergies, dietary restrictions, and preferences will be lovingly accommodated. New to Ayurveda? Don’t sweat it! This weekend is a wonderful time to learn about this larger system of health and wellbeing, of which yoga is just one part. Learn how your diet and self-care don't just support your yoga practice but are part of your yoga practice! Unearth ways to adjust your routines to be ultimately supportive throughout these winter months.

Arrivals on Friday February 8th, between 3:00-5:00 pm. Friday evening class to begin at 5:30 pm. Departures on Sunday, February 10th, 1:00 pm.

accommodations:

Shilo Farm is a dream. Shepherded by the radiant duo, Jonas and Amylyn, this charming six-acre working homestead is complete with goats, chickens, farm cats, and a majestic livestock dog, Shasta. The super comfortable accommodations are rustic-elegant with an artistic flair (think a unique collection of art on the walls and a victrola adapted to play music from your iPhone).

The farm and home are designed to be in harmony with the land, utilizing composting, radiant heat combined with woodstoves, as well as sourcing and producing organic food. Just to add to its cool factor, Shilo farm is also home to SatManav Tattoo, a tiny bespoke tattoo parlor providing sacred and ritual tattooing and ceremonial arts. Massage services are also available upon request.  A short drive from Portsmouth New Hampshire, this community hub hosts concerts, fire pits, ping pong tournaments, a wood stove heated yoga studio… the list goes on. We are truly so excited to be hosting at Shilo Farm. We fell in love the moment we arrived and we know you will melt into its magic.

what we'll be doing...

Friday afternoon will begin with settling into your rooms, exploring the beautiful grounds and getting to know each other over tea & snacks. Our opening meditation and yoga class will begin at 5:30 pm. A welcome feast will follow! Post dinner, we’ll gather for an meditation, opening circle, intention setting, and facilitated bonding :)

Saturday will start quietly and slowly, with a 30 minute meditation, followed by silent breakfast. After breakfast, take some time to digest and prepare for morning practice, 9:30- 12:30. Family-style lunch will follow.

If you are interested in expanding your yoga practice off of the mat, Saturday afternoon will contain programming for those interested in diving deeper into other limbs of the yogic practice. This time will include insight dialogue, artistic expression, and communal discussion.  Feel free to also use this time to explore the area, go for a walk through Vaughan Woods or drive by the seacoast.

Saturday evening will feature a magical lunar practice of slow flow, restorative, and meditation with essential oils. This class is intended to get you into a calm space where you can release, rest, and integrate the internal work and discussion from the day. Drop-ins are available for this mystical class.

Sunday morning mimics Saturday, with meditation, silent breakfast, and practice. Following lunch, we will have a closing circle and meditation. Departure time is 1:00.
